Changing Gearz – Terms & Conditions

1. Definitions

  • “We / Us / Our” refers to Changing Gearz.
  • “You / Your / Customer” means the person buying or reserving a bicycle.
  • “Bicycle / Bike / Goods” means the second-hand bike or related products we sell.

2. About Our Bikes

  • All bikes are second-hand / pre-owned and may have signs of wear and tear. The condition will be described in each listing; we encourage you to look carefully at photos and the description before purchase.
  • Bikes are sold as seen, subject to the other terms in these Conditions.

3. Viewing & Test Rides

  • We highly recommend that you view and test ride the bike before purchase/collection.
  • Reservations do not guarantee sale until payment is made in full.

4. Payments & Collection

  • Full payment is required upon collection of the bike.
  • We accept cash and card payments.

5. Warranty

  • Every bicycle comes with a three-month warranty from date of purchase.
  • This warranty covers mechanical faults due to defects in materials or workmanship.

What the warranty does not cover:

  • Wear and tear (e.g. tyres, tubes, brake pads, chains, grips, etc.)
  • Damage caused by accidents, misuse, or lack of maintenance
  • Alterations, modifications, or repairs by persons other than our authorised representatives without our approval
  • Damage caused by environmental exposure, improper storage, failure to keep the bike cleaned and lubricated, improper use

To make a warranty claim:

  • Contact us at info@changing-gearz.co.uk with proof of purchase and, if possible, photographs of the issue.
  • We may ask you to bring the bicycle to us for inspection.
  • If the fault is covered, we will repair or replace the defective part, or offer an equivalent replacement.
  • The warranty is non-transferable; it applies only to the original purchaser.

6. Returns, Refunds & Cancellations

  • As we sell second-hand items, returns are at our discretion except where the law (Consumer Rights Act 2015) gives you statutory rights.
  • If a bike is significantly not as described (e.g. serious mechanical issues that were not disclosed), you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund.
  • Cancellation of orders/reservations: if you reserve, but do not complete the purchase, any deposit or payment made may be non-refundable (unless otherwise agreed).

7. Liability

  • We endeavour to ensure all information (descriptions, images) on our site is accurate. However, small discrepancies may occur; these do not necessarily render the product “not as described.”

We are not liable for:

  • Loss, damage or injury caused by misuse, improper maintenance, or modifications.
  • Any indirect or consequential losses (e.g. loss of earnings, transport costs) arising from the use or inability to use the bike.
  • Defects or damage arising from accident or negligence.
  • Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights under UK consumer protection laws.

8. Reservation / Pre-Order Policy

  • When you place a reservation request, we will hold the bike for up to 5 working days, provided no full payment has been received.
  • If the bike is sold during that period, we will inform you as soon as possible.
  • Reservation does not constitute ownership until full payment is made.

9. Data Protection / Privacy

  • We collect personal data (name, email, phone, etc.) to process orders/reservations and for customer service.
  • Changing Gearz will process your information in accordance with TCBC data protection policies.
